IPhone Simulator allows you to view any website as it would look zoomed in on an iPhone, either in portrait or landscape view. Mobile emulation is available for members only. Mobile emulation allows you to see your websites like they are rendered in mobile devices. You can try mobile emulation and other amazing features. First thing you need to do is download xCode from the App Store. Type “xCode” into the search box to track it down then click install. It’ll take a little while so feel free to take a breather. Once xCode has been downloaded and installed on your machine, open up your Applications folder and scroll down to it. Download iPhone Simulator - A simulator that enables you to enjoy the look and feel of an iPhone and test the device before purchasing it, in order to decide if you really like it.

Apple has developed a product suite Xcode to develop applications on Mac OS X. The latest version of Xcode is bundled free with Mac OS X, but it is not installed by default. You have to explicitly install it from the Mac OS X DVD or download Xcode from the Apple website at http://developer.apple.com/technologies/Xcode.html.
Note: Support for iPhone 3G devices has been dropped.
If you install Xcode 4.5, iOS 5.0 SDK is bundled along with it.
Xcode is a full-featured IDE. Xcode integrates the editing of source code with the build and compile steps. For more information about Xcode setup for iPhone, see Xcode User Guide.
Perform the following steps before running the application on iPhone emulator:Download iOS SDK 5.0 from http://developer.apple.com/iphone/index.action.Install this SDK on the Apple Macintosh machine.Open Xcode.
Note: Minimum version of Xcode supported is 4.5 and above for iOS SDK 5.0 version.
Select Active Configuration as Release/Debug/Preview in the top-left drop-down in Xcode editor.Select Project/Edit Active Target -> Release/Debug/Preview from Xcode menu.Select Build/Clean All Targets from Xcode menu.
To build and view an application on an iPhone/iPad emulator automatically,Follow the steps listed at iOS Preferences.
To view an application on iPhone/iPad emulator manually, follow these steps:If you are downloading the plugins manually, download the iphone binaries from the download site provided by Kony and extract them to a folder, say <HOME>. For more information about installing iPhone plug-in, see Kony Studio Installation Guide. When you use the installer, the binaries are downloaded automatically.Go to Terminal and enter the following commands:
cd <HOME>
cd VMAppWithKonylibgen
perl extract.pl <URL of app KAR>
For example, perl extract.pl http://10.10.4.87:8888/<appName>r?type=ipad
open ./VMAppWithKonylib.Xcodeproj
Note: For ease of development and deployment to an iOS simulator , Kony Studio packages the application and its resources into a simple binary format referred to as KBF (KonyBinaryFormat) , also referred to as KAR (KonyArchive). This file includes all the application resources like application byte code, images, and FFI dependencies. The KBF/KAR file is generated every time a build is performed for the iOS platform. This file is deployed to the local Jetty server in the IDE and can be downloaded via HTTP, for example, http://ipaddressof the system:portno/appnamer/?type=iphone
Note: If there are Jetty connectivity issues when working with Parallels on Macintosh machine, it is best to use absolute file reference to the KAR file to be extracted, versus via the Jetty Server (KAR file specified as an HTTP url). A given Kony Studio Application’s Xcode KAR file is located in your workspace’s WebApps directory. If you are using a dual partition Mac/Windows laptop, the absolute file path would look like:
perl extract.pl /Volumes/C/Workspace-V4.0.02GA/webapps/GMr/kbf/konyappiphone.KARSelect Scheme as KDebug, KRelease, or Preview.
Set the scheme as :KRelease for applications you want to release for Production.KDebug for applications you want to debug. To debug the application, the application must be built in the debug mode in Kony Studio.KPreview for previewing the applications.Click Run in Xcode. This action builds and runs the current application.
Note: Close the simulator if it is already open before clicking Run.
For iPhone 5, you have to perform an additional step. For more information, refer Viewing applications on the iPhone 5 simulator. The simulator opens with Build Succeeded message and the application opens.
Note: For information on debugging an application, see the Debugger section.
Viewing applications on the iPhone 5 SimulatorIphone Simulator Download
iPhone 5 is a 4 inch device with 1136 x 640 resolution. This would give extra vertical space for applications, while the width of the screen remain the same as that of old iPhone devices. All existing applications would work on iPhone 5 with out any issues in compatibility mode ( letterbox mode) where the extra vertical space is filled with a black patch on top and bottom of the screen. Applications look good in the compatibility mode and function as they would on any other iPhone devices. For building, running, and testing the application, use the Xcode 4.5 and use the iPhone 5 simulator. Using Xcode 4.5 is compulsory for testing the applications on iPhone 5 in full compatibility mode. Use the prior procedure to launch the simulator.Once the simulator opens up, you can set the simulator as iPhone 5 by choosing the Hardware / Device / iPhone (Retina 4- Inch) Now the application runs in iPhone 5 full mode where the application occupies the complete screen .Check the following while testing. Note: It is a choice of the customer whether the application will run in full mode or compatibility mode on iPhone 5. Full mode ensures that the application occupies the complete screen that does not necessarily mean the application is really leveraging the extra vertical space . To ensure the applications run on full screen mode refer Splash Screen Properties for iPhone5.
Note: The above notes are applicable for the new iPod as well.Copyright © 2015 Kony, Inc. All rights reserved.Iphone Simulator Download For Windows
